Machine Shop Operative

Job Purpose

  • Ensure all products produced comply to the stated Manufacturing standards.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Be responsible for correctly setting a variety CNC machines to produce high quality components.
  • Ensure the stock control system is actioned correctly.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations.
  • Implement and maintain 5’s

Key Accountabilities

  • To set, programme, and operate CNC machines to Produce High Quality Manufactured parts in a timely and safety conscious way.
  • To Maintain Stock levels within the assembly department
  • Working to drawings and CAD files with a variety of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Working independently or as part of a team.

Measurements / Deliverables:

  • Working within timescales and acceptable tolerances.
  • Right first time.
  • Working safely to protect yourself and others around you.
  • Continuous improvement.
  • KPI’s
  • Quality Pass 90% + / fail 0%
  • Area Cleanliness (5’s)

General and Specialist Knowledge

  • Machining and assembly process knowledge
  • Any relevant CNC Training.
  • CAD/CAM Training.
  • Lean Training.
  • Abrasive Wheels Certification.

Qualifications (Essential/Desirable)

  • Any relevant qualifications or formal training required to undertake the role, e.g. CIPD, relevant degree or good standard of written English, tractor driving proficiency.
